Joanne Frances Press is a small publisher of children's books owned and operated by Joanne Froh and Frances Plagens, the mother-daughter team -- author and illustrator, behind Imagine This!

Company Mission

Our mission at Joanne Frances Press is to publish books that inspire and foster creativity in children.  Sounds simple enough.  But what it really means is that we'd like to publish books that not only entertain, but encourage children to visualize their dreams and see themselves achieving goals, doing the fantastic!  For it is through this visualization of dreams and achevement that future success is born.

Ideally, we hope our books inspire kids to daydream more and watch TV less.   Play more make-believe and fewer video games.  And above all else -- see more of what's in the mind's eye; as opposed to just what's in front of them.

Lofty goals?  Absolutely.  But the truth is, we believe it's not only important and healthy for children to exercise their imaginations on a daily basis, but a lot more fun and rewarding than the alternative.  Besides -- where are the innovators, artists and successful leaders of tomorrow going to come from if we don't plant and nurture the seeds of creativity in our children today?

We hope that you agree with our mission and appreciate your interest in our company.Photo of Joanne Froh and Frances Plagens

Charitable Donation

Each year, Joanne Frances Press selects a different charity benefiting children to receive 10% of sales revenue on products sold through our website.  In 2007, the designated charity is Operation Smile, an organization born of compassion, which gives thousands of impoverished children living with a cleft lip or palate the ability to face the world with a joyous smile.  To learn more about Operation Smile, please visit: www.OperationSmile.org
